Gregoire Blanc has been appointed as senior ETF capital markets specialist at Vanguard reporting directly to Tom Bartolacci, the head of the company's ETF capital markets team in Europe.
Blanc will be responsible for supporting the liquidity of Vanguard's products, and helping clients achieve their desired investment outcomes.
Thomas Merz, head of distribution, Europe, Ex-UK said Blanc's appointment was part of Vanguard's efforts to expand the provider's ETF client support and product offering across Europe.
Blanc joins from Lyxor Asset Management where he was head of ETF capital markets having started at the company in 2009 in the ETF broker/dealer Sales team.
He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that Merz said would help Vanguard "ensure clients get the best possible trading experience, and achieve the lowest possible trading costs, when buying and selling ETFs."
Blanc is the latest in a series of senior ETF hires at Vanguard since the start of the year, including; the appointment in June of Simone Rosti as head of Italy; the hiring of Markus Weis as deputy head of Germany and Austria in February; and more recently Liz Wright, Rahul Thrakar and Christophe Collet joining as senior ETF specialists.
Vanguard's European operations currently have over $175bn in assets under management as at the end of May 2018.
