DWS’s Switzerland CEO and global CIO Björn Jesch has departed the firm by “mutual agreement”.

Jesch (pictured), who joined DWS in 2020, will be replaced as global CIO by Vincenzo Vedda, who currently acts as global head of portfolio management for public markets at the firm.

DWS said a successor for the role of Switzerland CEO will be announced shortly.

Vedda will continue to report to CEO Stefan Hoops.

Jesch joined DWS in 2020 as head of multi asset and solutions, before becoming global CIO at the end of 2022. Before this, he held various roles at Credit Suisse, Union Investment and Deutsche Bank.

Commenting on the departure, Stefan Hoops, CEO at DWS, said: “We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Björn, who is an expert and strong communicator on international capital markets, close to our clients, and a great colleague. We wish him all the best for his professional and personal future."

Hoops added, “In Vincenzo, an experienced capital market expert is taking on this task. As well as his extensive experience in leading our portfolio management unit, he deeply understands our clients’ needs.”

Elsewhere, Keshava Shastry, global head of capital markets at DWS departed after a decade with the firm in March.
