ETF Securities Australia is building out its team, with new key hires in sales and research.
Larry Achike, a former British Olympian, is joining the team in a senior business development capacity. While further hires have been made across portfolio management, research and management.
Mr Achike joins from Surgicore Australia, where he was the head of business development. He formerly represented the UK in triple jump.
"I achieved the ultimate success in realising my goal and competing in two Olympic Games," Mr Achike said.
"But the pinnacle of my athletics career was being selected as the British Athletics team captain at the 2009 World Championships. I am looking forward to channeling my competitive instincts into a sector leader like ETF Securities."
With ETF Securities Biotech ETF (CURE) hitting the ASX earlier this month, the company now has 14 funds with a collective AUM base of $1.1 billion.
"We are a growing business in a dynamic sector of the market. ETFs are the fastest growing product type in Australia, with funds under management posting annual growth of nearly 22 percent to more than $40 billion at the end of October," said Kris Walesby, CEO of ETF Securities.
"The business has more than doubled its headcount since launching in 2015. I think that is a testament to the fact that we are doing the right thing in the right part of the market."
