State Street Global Advisors has tapped Meaghan Victor to head its ETF division in Australia.
Ms Victor will join SSGA from BT Financial Group where she held a senior role in developing business partnerships. She will be based in Sydney and report to Rory Tobin, global co-head of SPDR ETFs.
Ms Victor will be responsible for growing the SPDR ETF business in Australia's increasingly competitive passive investing landscape.
Despite having the oldest and largest ETF in Australia, the SPDR ASX 200 (STW), SSGA is currently the third biggest issuer by assets under management, after iShares and Vanguard.
According to a report from robo-advisor Stockspot, SSGA grew its AUM by 15% in 2016, the same percentage growth as iShares but behind the 42% growth seen by Vanguard.
