The S&P 500 ESG Index is a broad-based, market-cap-weighted index that is designed to measure the performance of securities meeting sustainability criteria, while maintaining similar overall industry group weights as the S&P 500 Index. The index targets 75% of the float market capitalization of each GICS Industry Group. The index excludes securities that: 1) are involved in business activities in tobacco and controversial weapons; 2) have a low United Nations Global Compact score; or 3) have an S&P Dow Jones Index ESG Score that falls within the worst 25% of ESG scores from each GICS industry group. The reference index is rebalanced annually. To minimise exposure to fluctuations in the exchange rate between USD and EUR, the EUR Hedged index includes a daily currency hedge in the index calculation.
