Moorgate Benchmarks has appointed Tim Black as head of governance for both internal and external provisions.

Black (pictured) will report to the firm's chief indexing officer Gareth Parker.

His responsibilities include managing Moorgate’s administration and governance services as well as the firm’s internal compliance function.

Prior to joining Moorgate, Black was involved in product management at the British clearing house LCH Group where he spent two years. He also held positions as HSBC, Markit and UBS.

Tobias Sproehnle, CEO of Moorgate Benchmarks, said in a statement: “Black’s wealth of industry knowledge, particularly within the fixed income and credit sectors, gathered from his various roles at UBS, Markit, HSBC and LCH, will further extend Moorgate’s lead in this area.”

At the end of last year, Moorgate appointed former ETF Securities chief executive Mark Weeks to its board.
