German index provider Solactive has launched an index that looks to capture the shift in behaviour following

the outbreak of coronavirus.

The Solactive Remote Work index offers exposure to 40 US-listed companies across a number of industries that focus on the ability to work from home.

To be included in the index, stocks must have business operations in at least one of these areas; cloud technologies, cybersecurity, online project and document management, and remote communications.

The remote communications category focuses on companies whose products are linked in workplace chat and videoconferencing solutions.

The firm said the resulting universe may include companies that offer services, infrastructure or technology in at least one of the four fields.

Equally weighted and rebalanced semi-annually, the index selects 10 companies that score the highest on each of the four categories.

Earlier this week, German investment technology platform BITA launched a similar index, the BITA Remote Economy Giants index, which offers exposure to companies offering remote services.
