Amundi promotes Balafrej to global ETF portfolio management head

Amundi has promoted Mehdi Balafrej to global head of ETF and index portfolio management.

In his new role, Balafrej (pictured) will be responsible for leading the Paris and Tokyo equity and fixed income ETF and indexing portfolio management teams.

He is also a member of the ETF, indexing and smart beta business line’s executive committee.

Prior to the promotion, Balafrej was deputy head of product development and capital markets at Amundi having joined the firm in 2013 as a capital markets specialist.

Amundi expands climate ETF range with triple launch

He also held positions at SGCIB and Credit Agricole CIB as a trader on Delta One derivatives products and ETFs.
