More HANs on deck for McNeil and Bienkowski

Scott Longley

The hiring spree at independent white-label provider HANetf continues as the company has followed up its additions at the tail end of last year with two new faces joining in capital markets and marketing roles.

Jason Griffin has been appointed as director for capital markets and business development while Simon Mott has taken on the role of director of marketing.

These two follow the news at the end of December that Samir Patel was joining as general counsel and Ignatius Faissal was becoming the director of product management.

Griffin is well-versed in ETFs having most recently been at Source and prior to that working at Tradition and BlackRock.

He will report directly to HANetf co-founder and co-chief executive Hector McNeil and will be responsible for business development and management of existing client relationships.

Mott was most recently at index leader FTSE Russell, where he was responsible for the development and execution of the company's global ETF and wealth management marketing strategy. Also reporting to McNeil, Mott will be responsible for driving all aspects of marketing strategy, brand awareness and customer engagement.

HANetf was founded last year by ETF sector veterans McNeil and Nik Bienkowski. It hopes to allow new entrants to enter the market via it's white-label offering.

The company saw a recent seed funding round oversubscribed. McNeil told ETF Stream at the time that the enthusiasm from investors indicated the company was on the right path in attempting ot help traditional fund managers enter the ETF space.

"Many of the traditional asset managers need help or existing footprint to set up a coherent entry point," he told us in November. "With ETF Securities, Canvas and Source out of the way there are no third-party full service UCITS ETF platforms out there."

McNeil will once again be featured in an interview that will be forthcoming on ETF Stream in the next few weeks as he updates us on the progress made by HANetf so far.
