MSCI hires Nutmeg’s ETF research head

MSCI has appointed Rumi Mahmood from Nutmeg as a senior associate in the ESG funds research team.

Mahmood (pictured) spent four years at the wealth management disruptor most recently as head of ETF research where he was responsible for index analysis, ETF due diligence and selection.

Prior to this, he was an analyst at BNY Mellon in the global securities operations division.

Mahmood commented: “It has been a great tenure at Nutmeg and the exposure has been unparalleled, especially in ESG.

“There is a lot to be done on the funds side of ESG and it is exciting to be at the forefront of developing solutions in this space at MSCI.”

His appointment comes at a time when MSCI recently made its ESG fund ratings publicly available for the first time.
