WisdomTree has launched a genetics and biotechnology revolutions ETF that incorporates ESG metrics.
The WisdomTree BioRevolution UCITS ETF (WDNA) is listed on the London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Boerse with a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.45%.
WDNA tracks the WisdomTree BioRevolution ESG Screened index which offers exposure to companies involved that are expected to lead the transformations and advancements in genetics and biotechnology.
WisdomTree worked with its special strategist Dr. Jamie Metzl to create the index which identifies the key sectors and industries that are set to benefit from advances in biological science and technology.
These themes incorporated in WDNA include human health – the application of genetic technology to prevent and treat diseases, agriculture and food – the biotech revolutions that will increasingly transform food production, materials, chemicals and energy – biological reengineering, and biological machines and interfaces – the focus on revolutionising data storage.
Metzl commented: “The genetics and biotechnology revolutions will not just change our healthcare systems, allowing us to live healthier and longer lives, they will also fundamentally transform our world far beyond healthcare.

This latest launch takes WisdomTree’s thematic ETF range in Europe to five. The other four offer exposure to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cyber security and battery technology.
At ETF Stream’s inaugural ETF awards, the WisdomTree Battery Solutions UCITS ETF (Volt) won the ‘Thematic ETF of the year’ category.
