Federico Cupelli
Federico Cupelli is Deputy Director for Regulatory Policy at EFAMA. He leads a team in charge various regulatory files and coordinates various internal working groups. These meet regularly to discuss regulatory themes with EFAMA Members, helping to shape the European industry’s advocacy efforts vis-à-vis EU bodies, national supervisors and international standard setters. At EFAMA, his team is in charge of the AIFMD/UCITS review, capital market reforms (e.g. MiFIR), financial stability topics, MMFs, ETFs, third-country developments, as well as monitoring initiatives from standard-setting bodies (IOSCO & FSB) in the investment management space.
Before joining EFAMA in September 2014, Federico worked for three years as a senior advisor in the asset management regulation policy division at the French Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) in Paris. Prior to this, Federico was working as a policy officer at the European Commission (DG FISMA) on asset management-related files. He has a Masters Degree in International Economics & Affairs from the Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. and a Certificate in Investment Management from the London Business School.
