Mark Geene

Mark Geene has been at PGGM since 2007. He served roles in both PGGM Investments as well as PGGM Institutional Business. At PGGM Investments he was a senior investment manager responsible for Alternative investments including Hedge Funds, Distressed Corporate and Distressed Mortgages among others. Since joining the Fiduciary Advisory team at PGGM IB in 2014 he has been responsible for advising clients of PGGM with respect to the implementation of a range of asset classes including several credit categories. In the last years has been heavily involved in researching the benefit and impact of sustainability policies (including carbon reduction, SDG-investing and exclusion policies) and providing advice on these matters together with colleagues specifically in the credit categories. In addition, within Fiduciary Advice he was also responsible for the monitoring of the execution of the investments by PGGM Investments on behalf of the clients of PGGM.

Before joining PGGM Mark has served as respectively as a senior hedge fund analyst and portfolio manager, as a senior investment strategist and as a portfolio manager equities. In total his professional investment and research experience covers 26 years.

Mark sits on the board of editors of the VBA CFA Journal of the Netherlands and has been involved in setting up and/or teaching at several investment courses in the Netherlands. He holds a MA of Business Economics and Master of Science, both with honours.
