American Century has appointed Andrew Moore as head of EMEA ETF capital markets for its Avantis Investors division from JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM).

Based in London, Moore (pictured) will report to American Century global ETF capital markets head Matt Lewis and will be responsible for ensuring the firm’s UCITS ETFs trade efficiently.

He enters the role after spending more than six years as executive director of ETF capital markets for JPMAM.

Previously, Moore operated as an ETF capital markets specialist for five years and spent seven years across fund accountancy roles at BNY Mellon.

Commenting on the hire, Lewis said: “Andrew has a proven track record of building relationships with clients and ETF market participants. We are very pleased to welcome him to the team.”

American Century Investments head of EMEA Richard Adams added: “We continue to see demand from investors for our range of low-cost, well-designed strategies and this important addition to the team will further bolster our capabilities in the region.”

News of Moore’s arrival comes a fortnight after American Century made its European debut with two active ETFs capturing global equities and small caps.

It comes after fellow recent entrant to Europe’s active ETF market, Robeco, poached Dorcas Phillips from Fidelity International to head up its capital markets function.
