ETF industry veteran Rory Tobin joins UBS Asset Management as a senior advisor to its ETF franchise, where he will work on the expansion of its global ETF and index capabilities.
Tobin will report to Aleksandar Ivanovic, president of asset management, and will work on the acceleration of the firm’s growth in key global markets, including EMEA.
Prior to a career break starting in April 2024, Tobin was head of State Street Global Advisor’s (SSGA) ETF business and was with the firm for eight years.
He brings 35 years of financial services experience to UBS and is a veteran of the ETF industry, having worked at Barclays Global Investors as CEO of iShares Europe from 2007, before taking on the role of co-CEO - iShares global after BlackRock acquired the firm.
His work across a number of asset managers was recognised by Tobin being awarded Outstanding Contribution To ETFs at the 2023 ETF Stream Awards.

UBS ETF business has attracted global net inflows of $10.6bn so far this year, a strong rebound after the unit registered net outflows of $4.2bn over the whole of last year, according to ETFGI.
