Today we've seen some new ETFs listed by Korean chaebols, but otherwise a quiet day. It will likely stay quiet until 2018.
Korea
Samsung lists China tracker
Samsung is listing a new China tracking ETF, the Samsung KODEX China CSI300 ETF (283580). The fund will track the CSI 300 index, which is a major Chinese index made up of the top 300 stocks traded on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges.
Hanwha lists ESG and NASDAQ trackers
Korean chaebol Hanwha is listing two new ETFs, but under different sub-brands. One under Arirang, Korea's oldest ETF issuer, the other under HI Focus. They are:
Hanwha Arirang NASDAQ Technology Sector ETF (287180)
HI Focus ESG Leaders150 ETF (285690)
287180 will track the NASDAQ 100 Technology Sector index, which lists the largest tech companies that trade on NASDAQ. 285690 will track the KRX ESG Leaders 150 index, which takes 150 companies from the KOSPI and KOSDAQ indexes and weights them by their ESG scores.
Italy
PowerShares cross-lists corporate bond ETF
PowerShares USD Corporate Bond UCITS ETF (PUIG), which tracks the Bloomberg Barclays USD IG Corporate Liquidity Screened Bond Index, is being cross-listed into Italy where it will be available in euros.
