ETC Group poaches head of research from Deutsche Digital Assets

Dragosch becomes the firm’s second senior hire within a month

Crypto exchange-traded product (ETP) specialist ETC Group has appointed André Dragosch as head of research from Deutsche Digital Assets (DDA). 

Based in London, Dragosch (pictured) will lead the firm’s research into digital assets and report to CEO Tim Bevan. 

He spent the last year as head of research for DDA based in Frankfurt. 

Previously, he spent three years as an investment strategist and cross-asset analyst at Union Investment, five years as a senior asset allocation analyst at FERI and two years in research and fund management roles at Helaba Invest. 

Bevan said: “Our crypto research team publishes regular and freely accessible high-quality analyses and reports for private and institutional investors, traders, financial service providers and crypto enthusiasts.  

“We want to expand this offering, especially with regard to the important German market, in order to bring an understanding of the digital assets and the investment opportunities thereto to a broader investor base."  

Dragosch added: “Many investors and institutions are just becoming aware of this new, emerging asset class.  

“I believe that ETC Group is very well positioned to provide further entry opportunities into digital assets, for both institutional and retail investors.” 

The new hire came within a month of the firm appointing former head of strategy for ETFs at abrdn, Chanchal Samadder, as head of product.
