Franklin Templeton has bolstered its ETF sales team in Italy with the appointment of Vincenzo Sagone.

Based in Milan, Sagone (pictured) will lead ETF distribution efforts in Italy, working with distribution teams, leveraging client relationships and identifying ETF buyers, reporting to Caroline Baron, head of ETF distribution for EMEA.

Sagone joins from Amundi, where he spent 12 years as head of ETF, Indexing and Smart Beta for Italy.

Prior to this, he worked in an ETF institutional sales role at Kepler Cheuvreux.

Commenting on the hire, Baron said: “We are delighted to welcome Vincenzo to the team. With over 20 years of experience in financial services, he will further strengthen the development of our ETF business with local wholesale and institutional investors in Italy.”

Michele Quinto, head of distribution for Italy, Franklin Templeton, added: “Vincenzo brings a deep understanding of the Italian ETF market and will be a valuable asset to the Italian distribution team. I am looking forward to working closely with him.”

In February, Franklin Templeton appointed Silvia Anselmi as an ETF sales specialist to grow the firm’s LibertyShares platform in Italy.

Shortly before, the group expanded its EMEA distribution team by hiring Giovanna Cilia as ETF sales specialist for Switzerland.
