Market maker Optiver has expanded its European sales team with the hire of Pasquale Capasso.

Based in London, Capasso (pictured) will report to Jean-Marie Tine, head of delta-1 institutional sales for Europe.

In his new role, Capasso will focus on growing Optiver’s presence across request-for-quote (RFQ) platforms and exchanges, alongside business development and sales off-platform directly to institutional counterparties across Europe.

Capasso joins from Invesco, leaving the firm as head of ETF capital markets for southern Europe and LatAm.

Prior to this, Capasso was head of EMEA ETF and hedge fund coverage at Invesco for two years and was promoted from director of ETF capital markets.

Capasso has also held various sales roles at MSCI, BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank.

Elsewhere, State Street promoted Ken Shaw to head of ETF solutions for EMEA following the departure of Ciaran Fitzpatrick to JP Morgan.

Franklin Templeton also recently expanded its ETF sales team in Italy with the appointment of Vincenzo Sagone.
