Fixed income ETF issuer Tabula Investment Management’s head of product Mandy Chiu has departed after a year and eight months at the firm, ETF Stream can reveal
Chiu (pictured) joined last January as chief product officer after six years as head of EMEA and APAC ETF product at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA).
Chiu’s tenure at Tabula saw her preside over three product launches including Europe’s first Gulf sovereign bond ETF – the Tabula GCC Sovereign USD Bond UCITS ETF (TGCC) – and the continent’s first Paris-Aligned high yield bond wrapper – the Tabula EUR HY Bond Paris-Aligned Climate UCITS ETF (THEP).
The firm also streamlined its product range since Chiu’s arrival last January, shutting three products including its debut ETF, the Tabula IG Performance Credit UCITS ETF (TCEP).
Commenting on the departure, a Tabula spokesperson told ETF Stream: “Mandy has left Tabula to pursue new opportunities and we thank her for her contribution to the firm’s growth.
"We have seen group assets increase this year to around $1bn and have had two successful ETF launches.
"We have a strong pipeline for the second half of the year and are positioned to benefit from the renewed interest in the fixed income asset class."
Prior to Tabula, she oversaw the launch of the $7bn SPDR Bloomberg SASB U.S. Corporate ESG UCITS ETF (SPPU), now the largest product on SSGA’s European roster.
Chiu started her career as a financial adviser and stockbroker at Taiwan’s largest security house and ETF provider, Yuanta Securities, in 2003.
She went on to spend seven years over two stints at ETF Securities in capital markets and as a director of product strategy as well as two years as associate director of ETF product structuring and research at HSBC Asset Management.
Chiu’s departure follows Tabula bolstering its UK, Germany and Italy sales capabilities with three hires in the last 18 months.
