Cryptocurrency ETP issuer Amun has bolstered its distribution force with the appointment of former Southern European co-head of sales at WisdomTree, Massimo Siano.
Reporting to Amun’s global distribution head Mark Rodino, Siano (pictured) joins as managing director for South European distribution.
Siano joined WisdomTree following the $611m acquisition of ETF Securities in March 2018, however, left the firm in May this year.
He spent 11 years at ETF Securities between 2007 and 2018 where he was responsible for distributing the firm’s commodities and thematic strategies.
Hany Rashwan, CEO of Amun, commented: “We are delighted that Massimo has accepted to join our team at a time when our Italian speaking community has been increasingly supportive of investment vehicles such as our ETPs and the recent SFSA consent to expand into Europe.
“Massimo brings a wealth of experience to the business and his appointment reflects our dedication that the company has set with its strategic focus to expand into southern Europe.”
Siano’s appointment comes days after Amun received approval from the Swedish regulator to distribute its products across the European Union (EU).
Amun currently offers 10 crypto ETPs which have $55m assets under management, however, the issuer is set to face increasing competition in the space after Siano's previous firm WisdomTree launched a bitcoin ETP earlier this month.
