Global X has hired Laura Kearney as EU head of legal from Arthur Cox.
Based in Dublin, Kearney spent four years as a senior associate in the asset management and investment funds division at Arthur Cox.
Prior to this, she started her career at William Fry where she was an investment funds senior lawyer for seven years between 2011 and 2018.
Kearney has also been a legal counsel at Morgan Stanley, Vanguard and Lazard Asset Management.
Commenting on her appointment, Rob Oliver, head of business development, Europe, at Global X, said: “We are thrilled to have Laura Kearney join us as head of legal in Ireland.
“The addition of Laura will be key to the growth of Global X’s European business. Laura joins at an exciting time as we continue to build the infrastructure to be a leading ETF issuer in markets across Europe and around the world.”
The appointment comes at a time of expansion for Global X which has launched over 20 ETFs in the last five months alone.
This includes a range of China thematic ETFs which were listed on Deutsche Boerse earlier this year and the launch of the firm’s first crypto ETPs on 9 March offering exposure to bitcoin and ethereum.
