Global X has continued its hiring spree in Europe with the appointment of George Taylor as head of ETF capital markets from HSBC Global Asset Management as well as two other hires.
In his new role, Taylor will be responsible for primary and secondary market structure along with investor ETF implementation.
He spent five years at HSBC GAM between January 2016 and December last year as head of ETF capital markets.
Prior to this, he was in the capital markets team at ETF Securities for three years from 2012 to 2015.
Joining Taylor in the ETF capital markets team is Magdalena Kowalik as an analyst. Prior to Global X, she held several roles in the capital markets team at the London Stock Exchange.
The firm has also expanded its UK sales team with the appointment of Hannah Waldron who will be responsible for distribution efforts across the region.
Waldron has worked in a number of distribution teams within the asset management industry including Artemis and Neptune Investment Management.
Global X made its entry into the European ETF market last December with the appointments of Rob Oliver as head of business development in Europe from JP Morgan and Morgane Delledonne as director of research last December.
Commenting on the hires, Oliver said: “George’s knowledge and experience will be instrumental in developing our capital markets capability and increasing interest from institutional investors.”
