ETF Stream has promoted Theo Andrew to editor following the departure of Tom Eckett.

Andrew (pictured) will be responsible for leading the editorial direction of the brand, including its online news and analysis, monthly magazine ETF Insider, reports and events.

It follows Eckett’s departure last month after three and a half years as editor.

He joined the business in 2019 from Investment Week, where he spent three years as an asset management correspondent.

Andrew has spent three years at the publication having joined in September 2021 as a senior reporter before being made news editor in June last year.

Prior to this, he was a news reporter at SportBusiness and spent almost two years at Citywire most recently as a senior reporter covering wealth and asset management.

He also spent two years at PensionsAge covering the UK pensions market.

Commenting on the news, Sam Ridley, managing director at ETF Stream, said:Tom’s tenure has laid very strong foundations for future success and I am personally very thankful for all he contributed and built editorially.

“We are delighted to appoint Theo as editor and along with the excellent editorial team we have absolute confidence that we will continue to grow from strength to strength. As we embark on several new and exciting projects, we will continue to reinforce our position as Europe’s leading ETF media brand for the professional markets.”

Andrew added: “Tom has left ETF Stream in a fantastic place editorially and I look forward to building on his hard work over the past few years.

“It is a very exciting time for the ETF industry in Europe with growth continuing at a rapid pace. Alongside the editorial team, we look forward to continuing to deliver news and analysis first to the ETF industry, while continuing to help investors with important asset allocation and portfolio construction decisions when selecting ETFs.”
