JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has promoted Travis Spence to head of ETF distribution, EMEA, following the departure of Olivier Paquier to AXA Investment Managers in January, ETF Stream can reveal.
Based in London, Spence (pictured) will be responsible for distributing JPMAM’s UCITS ETF range across Europe which grew to €9.6bn assets under management (AUM) in 2022, according to data from Bloomberg Intelligence.
He has held a number of roles at JPMAM, most recently as international head of investment specialists for global fixed income, currency and commodities.
Spence joined JPMAM in 2004 as head of global liquidity for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
He will report to Patrick Thomson, CEO for EMEA at JPMAM.
Commenting on the appointment, Thomson said: “Travis brings nearly 30 years of industry knowledge to the role and we look forward to him accelerating our market-leading UCITS ETF offering over the coming years as part of a team of highly skilled ETF experts.”
The firm said it will have a particular focus on active ESG ETFs in 2023 as investors look to achieve their sustainable targets through the benefits of combining ETFs and active management.
The promotion comes after the firm’s previous EMEA ETF distribution head Paquier joined AXA IM as global head of ETF sales in January, ETF Stream revealed.
In his new role, Paquier will be responsible for distributing the French asset manager’s ETF range across global markets.
