Tabula Investment Management has hired former BlackRock deputy wealth head for Switzerland Mark Vallon as it looks to expand in the region.
Vallon (pictured) joins as a senior consultant covering Swiss investors and will be responsible for leading the firm’s growth in the country.
He spent four years at BlackRock, most recently as deputy head of wealth, before leaving the business in September last year to set up his own financial well-being business, Vallon Ventures.
Prior to this, he was executive director and head of Switzerland at Source ETF, now Invesco, until 2018.
Vallon also held roles at Bellevue Asset Management, BNP Paribas Investment Partners and UBS Wealth Management, where he started his career serving high net wealth clients in the UK and Switzerland.
Tabula announced his appointment as part of a double hire, also naming Hacina Smith as head of digital marketing from German fintech company iwoca.
Stefan Garcia, chief commercial officer at Tabula, commented: “Having previously collaborated in building the business at Source, Mark brings an entrepreneurial spirit and profound understanding of Switzerland's asset and wealth management landscape.”
Vallon added: “The combined leadership and investment team brings impressive experience and track record from blue-chip global investment banks and asset managers.”
The appointment comes five months after Tabula’s head of product Mandy Chiu left the business for crypto ETP issuer 21Shares.
