White-label ETF issuer HANetf has appointed David O’Neill as EU CEO as it looks to strengthen its foothold across Europe.
Based in Dublin, O’Neill (picutred) will be responsible for leading the firm’s push into Ireland and the broader EU market.
He will succeed Tim Darcy, who was appointed as director of ETF operations at WisdomTree last November.
O'Neill joins from HAL Fund Services Ireland where he served as chief operating officer for over a year and a half.
In this role, he managed day-to-day operations of a third-party management company offering UCITS and AIF management services.
Prior to this, he was head of investment and fund services at the Asset Management Exchange (AMX), where he oversaw the investment and operational functions of a portfolio of funds across multiple platforms.
O’Neill has also held operations roles at Brookfield Renewable and AlbaCore Capital, as well as Knight Capital, where he was head of European institutional trading.
Hector McNeil, co-founder and co-CEO of HANetf, said: "David's wealth of experience will be invaluable to the continued growth and development of our business.
“David’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for HANetf, as we look to expand our footprint in Ireland and the broader EU market.”
The move follows the firm hiring Michael Geister as director of DACH sales last week, alongside Andre Voinea, formerly head of DACH sales, being promoted to head of sales for Europe.
