Vanguard is set to launch an investment app for its UK customers.

The app – currently in development – will allow its customers to invest in the passive giant’s ETFs and other products.

While a launch date is yet to be set, the app is expected to give investors ease of access to the firm’s platform.

A Vanguard spokesperson said: “The intention, like the website, will be to have an easy-to-use experience for long-term investors, looking to put balanced portfolios together to achieve their long-term investment goals.”

Vanguard added that the eventual launch was part of a broader effort to invest in its UK Personal Investor platform.

These efforts included the launch of its managed ISA and managed SIPP services, coupled with the addition of accumulation ETF share classes to the platform.

The Vanguard UK Personal Investor (UKPI) platform hit 500,000 last April, which has now grown to 575,000 clients holding around £19.8bn in assets on the platform.

In November last year, Vanguard closed its direct-to-consumer (D2C) investment platform in Germany less than two years after launching.

Elsewhere, the passive giant outlined plans for creating a model portfolio service last month, ‘actively’ seeking collaborations to build out the offering.

Earlier this week, Vanguard signalled its push into the Italian retail market after becoming the latest issuer to partner with Directa SIM.
