Europe’s largest asset manager Amundi has strengthened its ETF arm further with the appointment of Pav Sharma as senior sales specialist,
ETF Stream
can reveal.
Sharma joins from WisdomTree Europe where he spent over a year, responsible for distribution across the UK and Ireland.
He came to WisdomTree following the $611m acquisition of ETF Securities, which completed in Q1 2018.
At ETF Securities, he held a number of roles over five years, most recently as associate director, UK and Ireland sales. Sharma started his career at Peel Hunt in 2013 in an ETF research and strategy role.
Sharma is part of a significant ETF recruitment drive at Amundi as the firm looks to catch BlackRock, DWS, Lyxor and UBS.
This intent was highlighted at the start of the year when the firm poached Ashley Fagan from BlackRock to head up its ETF business in the UK and Ireland.
Along with Fagan’s appointment, the French firm also hired two from Vanguard, Gregoire Blanc, who joined as head of ETF capital markets and Liz Wright as a senior ETF sales specialist, ETF Stream revealed.
Also joining from BlackRock was Marco Stroheimer, who heads up ETF sales in Switzerland and Thomas Wiedenmann, who is joining as ETF head of retail and wealth management in Germany.
Amundi currently has €40bn ETF assets under management (AUM), according to data from Morningstar, as at the end of July.
