The index provider space looks set to radically develop over the next five years as ETF issuers and institutional investors demand greater customisation than simply ‘off-the-shelf’ products. In this context, new players have entered the market looking to disrupt the dominance of the Big Four of MSCI, S&P Dow Jones Indices, FTSE Russell and Bloomberg which currently have a strong grip on the market.
