JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has made a number of changes to its ETF sales team.
As part of the move to a regional model, JPMAM’s head of international ETFs Bryon Lake has been appointed head of ETF distribution for Americas.
Olivier Paquier, who joined the firm from State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) in 2018, will head-up ETF distribution for EMEA while Philippe El-Asmar will lead ETF distribution for Asia-Pacific.
A JPMAM spokesperson said in a statement: “We made the changes to accelerate the continued growth of our global ETF platform, positioning us to best serve our clients’ needs.”
Lake, who was named in ETF Stream's 2019 30 Index, joined JPMAM from Invesco in March 2017 to head-up the firm’s entry into the European ETF market in October that year.
He spent 12 years at Invesco between 2005 and 2017, most recently as head of its ETF business for EMEA.
In his role as head of international ETFs, Lake oversaw the launch of a number of ETFs across the passive, smart-beta and active spectrum which have gathered $2.4bn assets, as at 31 March, according to data from Ultumus.
This includes the launch of Europe’s joint-cheapest ETF at 0.04%, the JPM BetaBuilders US Equity UCITS ETF (BBUS), which listed in April 2019.
Paquier has held a number of roles in the European ETF industry. He started his career at Euronext before moving to Amundi where he spent three years as an ETF product specialist.
Following this stint at Amundi, Paquier spent six years at SSGA, most recently as head of SPDR ETF for France, Monaco, Spain and Portugal.
