MSCI appoints former Morgan Stanley MD as head of Nordic coverage

Index provider MSCI has appointed Fredrik Magni as executive director and head for the Nordic coverage.

Based in MSCI’s London offices, Magni will be responsible for developing the firm’s footprint and client relationship within the Nordic region. He will report to MSCI's managing director and head of EMEA Alvise Munari.

MSCI reveals ESG ratings for ETFs and funds

Magni joins MSCI from Morgan Stanley where he spent 19 years with the firm. His most recent role was managing director, head of equities for the Nordic region.

Prior to Morgan Stanley, Magni gained more experience and knowledge of the Nordic region having served as head of asset management at the AP6 Fund, National Swedish Pension Fund.

Munari commented: “The Nordic region is a crucial market for MSCI, where investors have a growing interest in our solutions, particularly our ESG capabilities.

“Fredrik is a highly experienced professional, with a proven track record and strong institutional relationships within the region. We’re delighted he will be joining our team and are confident that he will have an immediate impact on our Nordic business.”

Another recent hire by MSCI includes the appointment of Simone Bouch in June as head of Australia and New Zealand client coverage
