White-label ETF issuer HANetf has hired Tim Darcy as an ETF operations specialist.
Based in Ireland, Darcy will be responsible for supporting the development of the firm’s ETF operations, business development and relationship management.
Previously, he worked alongside HANetf co-founders Hector McNeil and Nik Bienkowski for three years at WisdomTree, building out the firm’s UCITS range and the Boost exchange-traded note (ETN) platform before focusing on its US and Canada products.
Across 16 years in ETFs, Darcy has held a number of roles in ETF operations and capital markets, starting with eight years as vice president of ETF valuations at BNY Mellon.
He also spent two years as assistant vice president of capital markets at Oppenheimer Funds, a year as senior capital markets strategist at Invesco US and most recently, two years as head of ETF operations and chief compliance officer at Emles Advisors.
Prior to entering ETFs in 2006, Darcy spent almost five years at State Street, latterly as a custody manager.
Commenting on the hire, Manooj Mistry, chief operations officer at HANetf, said: “Tim’s wealth of experience in the ETF industry will be vital for the continued growth and development of the HANetf white-label platform.
“Tim will deepen our management team and add invaluable US and European experience.”
Darcy added: “I hope to be able to utilise my experience in both asset servicing and asset management of ETFs globally across Europe and the US to assist HANetf to grow its white label platform efficiently and effectively in 2023 and beyond.
“I have known Hector and Nik for over a decade and am excited to be working with them again. Also, I am excited to work with Manooj Mistry who like Nik and Hector is a titan of the European ETF market.”
Darcy becomes HANetf’s latest senior hire within the past year after the firm appointed Shane Hickey as senior legal counsel from DWS and Torsten Dueing as head of ETC structuring from Nomura.
