Euronext is set to appoint Arnaud Llinas as head of ETFs and indices, ETF Stream can reveal.

The former Amundi head of ETFs is set to join the business on 3 June under the official title of head of ETFs, indices, warrants and certificates.

Under his new role, he will be responsible for driving further growth for Euronext's ETF business, which has already seen significant developments over the past few years.

Silvia Bosoni is currently the group head of ETFs at Euronext while Thomas Weber is head of ETF business development at the exchange.

Llinas (pictured) departed Amundi last November and was replaced by Benoit Sorel, former BlackRock head of sales for ETFs and index investing for France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Monaco.

He joined the group following its acquisition of Lyxor and was head of ETFs, indexing and smart beta for two years.

The appointment comes as Euronext looks to consolidate itself as Europe’s leading exchange.

In 2021, the group acquired the Borsa Italiana from the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in a deal worth €4.4bn.

Last week, the LSE lost two senior members of its ETF team following the departure of the head of ETFs Michael Stanley and business development head Hetal Patel.

Stephane Boujah, CEO of Euronext, previously warned London had left itself “isolated” following Brexit while consolidation on the continent has strengthened European exchanges.
