Nasdaq has promoted Wictor Comstedt to European head of sales for ETFs and exchange-traded products (ETPs) as the firm looks to drive adoption of the wrapper across the continent.

In his new role, Comstedt (pictured) will be responsible for leading the firm’s sales, partnerships and proposals for ETFs, listed investments funds, alternative investment funds (AIF) and securitised derivatives with a focus on the Nordic and European market.

Comstedt has held several business development roles over more than a decade at Nasdaq including three years as sales manager for ETFs and ETPs in Europe.

Commenting on his promotion, Comstedt told ETF Stream“Nasdaq has a strong ETF and ETP offering, especially in the Nordics, but there is more to be done.

“I am convinced that we can make 2023 the year that we accelerate the transformation and adoption of ETFs and ETPs in the market.

Last year, Nasdaq partnered with AXA Investment Managers and Global X as they launched Europe’s cheapest Nasdaq 100 ETF and first Nasdaq 100 covered call ETF, respectively.

The index provider also partnered with Hashdex on a Nasdaq crypto basket ETP and launched the world’s first indices tracking the price of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
