RBC Brewin Dolphin has promoted Shakhista Mukhamedova to head of fund research.

Mukhamedova (pictured) will work closely with Carlos Gonzalez Lucar, head of global manager research at RBC Wealth Management, British Isles, as the group looks to integrate its research teams.

She takes up the role having spent the past 18 months as head of fixed income and alternatives at the wealth manager and before this was the divisional director for fixed income, real estate and infrastructure.

Mukhamedova joined the business – formerly Brewin Dolphin – in 2010 as a fund analyst.

Her promotion comes following the announcement that Michael Paul will leave his role as head of equity fund research in the new year to take up a client facing role in the group’s Leeds office.

An RBC Brewin Dolphin spokesperson said: “Paul will move at the end of the year to take up a position as a client-facing investment manager in RBC Brewin Dolphin’s Leeds office.

“While Michael will be much missed within the research team, we wish him all the best as he brings his expertise to bear directly for clients.

“Mukhamedova will become head of fund research. She will be working closely with our RBC colleagues and in particular Lucar as we align our processes and procedures over the coming months, as the team integrates with the broader global manager research team at RBC Wealth Management.”

RBC completed its acquisition of Brewin Dolphin in September 2022 in a £1.6bn deal.
