UBS Asset Management has hired Willem Keogh from Qontigo as head of passive and ETF investment analytics.
Keogh spent five years at STOXX, which subsequently became Qontigo in September 2019, where he was head of ESG, thematic and factor solutions.
During this role, he was responsible for creating innovative and integrated solutions in these areas and worked closely with UBS in the launch of the world's first Euro Stoxx 50 ETF with an ESG tilt last August.
Prior to joining STOXX in 2015, Keogh was director of portfolio trading at Credit Suisse and head of statistical arbitrage at Tibra Capital.
He also held a number of roles at Rand Merchant Bank between 1998 and 2008, most recently as head of quantitative trading.
Clemens Reuter, head of ETF and passive investment specialists at UBS AM, said: " Willem has extensive experience in portfolio management, as well as designing ESG index solutions, which will help us cement our leadership in a strategic area of our business.
“His ability to turn ideas into practical solutions is appreciated by clients and colleagues, and we are happy to have him on the team.”
The appointment comes four months after the Swiss asset manager hired Pravin Bagree as head of ETF capital markets in March, ETF Stream revealed.
