HANetf has appointed Robin Kooijman as head of Benelux ETF sales from Lyxor following the departure of Rick van Leeuwen who spent just over a year in the role.
Van Leeuwen joined the company in June 2020 as director of sales for the Benelux region, prior to which he was head of institutional trading at IMC for three years, before the firm decided to close its equities and ETF trading business in Europe last November.
Kooijman (pictured) spent nine years at Lyxor where he was director of sales for the Netherlands, responsible for developing their ETF business across the region.
In his new role, he will help lead sales across the Benelux for HANetf’s thematic range of ETFs which includes thematic, commodity, crypto, active and carbon offsetting ETFs.
Commenting on the appointment, Simon Dale, head of sales at HANetf, said: “We have seen considerable growth in our ETF business this year and Robin’s appointment will enable us to expand our client engagement in the Benelux markets, where we see further potential for our growth.
“Rick laid great foundations which Robin will build on and it is great to have someone with over 13 years’ experience in ETFs join what is already a highly experienced team.”
Kooijman accompanies a raft of new hires by HANetf including Terry Wood as director of business development and Philip Turner as director of operations and Ridhima Sharma as investment writer and content manager.
In September, the firm appointed Annacarla Dellepiane as head of Italian sales from Legal & General Investment Management.
